Letoya Makhene-Pulumo Slams Abuse Allegations
Actress Letoya Makhene-Pulumo seemingly has no time for false allegations against herself or her wife.
“I’ve found a deep sense of peace in my life and I will be d***** if I allow the devil or any human being to take it away from me,” the 38-year-old soapie star said via an Instagram post on Sunday, 6 August, in response to allegations that her partner, Lebogang Pulumo-Makhene, had physically abused her.
A local publication had claimed earlier the same day that the former “Isidingo” actress “was escorted by two police vans to fetch her belongings from the family home of her partner” following an alleged assault incident last month.
The news outlet claims that an argument between the couple left the actress with bruises, a punctured lung and injuries that forced her to cut her signature dreadlocks.
Makhene-Pulumo and her partner had been attending a Netflix event celebrating women when the accusations broke, the timing of which seemingly fuelled the actress’ anger:
“Instead of being celebrated and getting good publicity for all this, Women’s Month is the time that someone chooses to try to bring down and drag two women who are hardworking, driven and self-motivated. Only you won’t win this one!”
Fans seem to be divided on who to believe, with some pointing out that Makhene-Pulumo hadn’t denied the accusations, while others claimed that they were based on homophobia.
